If you haven't sent in your follow up survey from Post '71 Uranium Workers Committee, please do so as soon as possible. We have help from Colorado College students for the summer to help generate the statistics, but we need the surveys to get the answers entered. So, get your surveys sent in as soon as possible.
People that worked in uranium mines before 1971 (pre ‘71) qualify for federal aid under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). As you are aware people that worked in uranium mines after 1971 (post ‘71) do not qualify for this aid under RECA though they are just as sick as pre ‘71 workers.
We have reorganized and formed a new committee to regenerate interest in RECA for post ‘71 miners, mill workers, and transporters. We are in the process of gathering data on illness and disease of post ‘71 workers. We have put together a new survey for post ‘71 workers to fill out. If you are a post ‘71 uranium miner, mill worker, or transporter please download, fill out, and send us the survey. Click here for more information.
We are in serious need of your help!
